Due to the flooding in the Village of Schoharie caused by Hurricane Irene, the Bake-Off Contest for 2011 and 2012 were cancelled.

The first Bake-Off Contest was held in 2007 on the Parrott House front porch during our Village-Wide Yard Sale Day.  Using the season’s harvest, bakers are challenged to enter their best entry in our contest.  No entry fee is charged and 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd prizes are gift certificates purchased from local merchants by Schoharie Promotional.  Judges have been local business owners and elected officials, and judging is on appearance, taste, combination of textures, and creativity.  After the judging, the items are auctioned off.  All proceeds support Promotional’s many projects and events.
